Chantilly, VA is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County. Home to numerous plantations in the 1700s, the town was named after one of these, the Chantilly Plantation, in the 19th century. During the Civil War, the Battle of Chantilly (also known as the Battle of Ox Hill) was fought nearby. The area experienced a growth in population after the construction of the Little River Turnpike in the 1800s. According to the 2010 census, Chantilly is home to 23,039 people.
